FAQ
Is a Deposit required and if so how much?
Yes, we will require a deposit of $6,500 Australian before any work begins.
Does a purchaser have to provide a 'sacrificial' RE Bullet Delux or Classic
for modification?
A Carberry Double Barrel is a modification of a Royal Enfield Bullet and for that
reason we require in every case that a registered in your state donor bike be supplied
by either the purchaser or we can do that at a cost to the purchaser.
What might one cost?
The price of our conversion differs according to customer requirements. Once we
know what it is that you want i.e. whether you require a bike to be supplied by
us (the price varies) or just a motor or additional special parts we will give you
a costing
What is involved in converting a sacrificial
Delux or Classic?
Essentially the Petrol
tank is modified, the frame is modified (the front half of the frame is modified
by us and it is a much stronger design with twin backbones , twin down tubes and
also has front and back cylinder head mounts and includes the engine within the
strucure). The motor is modified with a new crankcase and internals and an extra
barrel and head is needed! The seat is also modified. In each case if no disc is
present one is ftted. If there are any further non standard modifications required
by you there will of course be an extra cost which weI will discuss with you
at time of order and during the modification process.
What options are you offering?
Each Carberry will essentially be the standard V-Twin although you can tell me what
extras you might want and I can factor that into the construction. There will of
course be a price variation on the standard price if you want further modifications.
Will each bike be certified roadworthy by an RTA "Vehicle Compliance Certification
Scheme Engineering Signatory"?
Each Carberry will have been certified by the above
and a copy of the certification will be supplied with each bike.
What is the
reliability like of this modification and what testing have you done already?
The
prototype of the bike has been ridden over 35,000 kms with no problems and is a
very strong machine. The bike has suffered no failures in its life. It has also
been tested by a number of magazines (please see the website and read the Cathcart
review).
What warranties will we gve you?
If there is a part that fails through
faulty manufacture I will undertake to replace it at our should you send it
back to me. Obviously I cannot replace items that have been mistreated or maintained
incorrectly. If any standard Enfield part malfunctions then that is an issue for
the manufacturer.
